GoPro HERO4 Version 2.0 Firmware- Timelapse Video Test – 4K downscaled to 1080p

Testing the new Timelapse Video function in the GoPro HERO4 version 2.0 firmware release. Just a quick Timelapse from Curiosity Rocks in the middle of Lake Jindabyne. The resulting 4K MP4 file looked spectacular but was massive. A test render created a file too large (for my pathetic bandwidth) to upload to Youtube, so I rerendered it as 1080p/10mbps. The quality is still there and I think it looks a lot better than using the previous Timelapse photo method. I actually did a Timelapse sequence from the same spot earlier, so I may complete that and upload it as a comparison shortly.

The good thing with the GoPro HERRO4’s new Timelapse video function was not having to import the Timelapse sequence into edit and then having to stretch it to a 16:9 ratio (widescreen), the 4K MP4 file is already 16:9.

Thank you for watching.
